Mariam is the Director and Founder of the Eremhi Coptic Youth Organisation.
Mariam graduated with a first-class honours BSc Politics degree from the LSE, London School of Economics and Political Science. She is currently reading for an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies at Cambridge University at St Edmund’s College, supported by the prestigeous FAMES-Browne Centre of Islamic Studies Masters Studentship as a Cambridge Trust Scholar.
Mariam has previously interned at the UN Refugee Agency Regional Bureau in Jordan, CEOSS across Egypt, and Christian Solidarity International. Mariam is also a Laidlaw Scholar Alumn (Class of 2023-2025), and Oxford Rhodes Scholar Finalist. She has won first place essay contests at the Cambridge Woolf Institute and Michigan State University. She has presented her academic research at British Parliament, UCLA, VU Amsterdam, LSE, Woolf Institute Cambridge, and BRISMES Annual Conference. Mariam is contributing a book chapter to an Oxford University Press Book Series on Extremism, specifically Volume 6 which focuses on resilience against extremism.
